Hey Strangers! Sorry, I’ve been a little MIA lately. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that Rowan had his Lip & Tongue Tie revised and recovery has been a little bit tougher than we expected. I chose to really unplug and focus my energy on helping our little man feel better as quickly as possible, but I’m back (yay!) and I have a super exciting product to share with you that I’m pretty obsessed with.
Rowan just turned 6 months old, which now means he is officially old enough to start solids! We found out that when he got his Lip and Tongue Tie revised that if we hadn’t gotten it fixed, when we started solids Rowan would’ve had trouble chewing the food since both ties were pretty severe. I’m so glad we didn’t try solids sooner because I probably would’ve died of a heart attack if my sweet boy started choking because he couldn’t eat properly. In the midst of all this revision craziness, he also decided to sprout his very first tooth, so we’ve had a revision recovering teething monster on our hands. Fun times.
Since little man has had it rough lately, we decided to celebrate this weekend knocking off another milestone on his list with the help from our friends at Boon. We decided to start off our solid journey with Bananas. I figured a little sweet treat was the least we could do for the little guy after all he’s been through.

We stuffed our Boon PULP full of sliced Bananas and let Rowan have at it! He loved it, well, he loved the Boon PULP, the jury is still out on the Bananas. I think he liked having full control most of all. It was awesome seeing him navigate the world of real foods for himself. We started with purees for Mykenzi, but Rowan seems more curious about things than she ever did, so this was a great way to let him experiment on his own. We’ll get to playing with food soon enough, but for now, I love that the Boon PULP allows him to enjoy solids at his own pace. If you haven’t heard of it before, the Boon PULP is a silicone feeder that far exceeds its rival mesh feeder, and every Mama needs to go out and buy one immediately. These things are so awesome! Easy loading, and easy cleaning, unlike the mesh that gets dirty and becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. You can fill the PULP with chilled foods for teething babies, which I’m sure we’ll be doing a lot of because Rowan doesn’t teeth as gracefully as Mykenzi did. He’s a hot mess! The PULP is such a fun way to let your little one take control of solids and also ease the beast that is teething.
Where do you find this magical PULP amazingness? Well, lucky for you, I’ve linked a few retailers so you can get your hands on one ASAP.
