Another unintentional hiatus. I know you guys probably hate me by now. I just disappear of the blog planet then pop back on only to disappear again. Life just gets so crazy sometimes and unfortunately this is the first place that sees the impact. Bear with me. I promise I’ll always keep you updated on life even if that means weeks in between posts.
After my last post, we were supposed to head to Florida to celebrate little man’s first birthday! We are we’ll into 2 months of him being one, and I’m still in denial of how fast it got here. We were going to go home to Florida so all of our family could be together and celebrate our big one year old, but God had other plans. The day before we were supposed to leave my Mother in Law called us and told us she had shingles of the eye and scalp. OUCH! We were still going to head down, but it was in the very highly contagious stage of shingles and we weren’t quite ready for the kids to get chicken pox, so we postponed until the following weekend so she could heal. Well, God still decided he didn’t want us in Florida because that week we all got sick with the plague. It started with Rowan, then Rowan sneezed into my mouth, so I got sick, then Mykenzi, and finally Dad was down for the count by the end of the week. So, no Florida again. We are still unsure why the universe didn’t want us in Florida, but we try not to question. It took us all quite some time to recover from the germs we kept passing around, so we didn’t even get to celebrate Rowan until the end of the month. But, we did manage to get some pretty cute photos for his first birthday all thanks to Cuddle Sleep Dream. I mean, how adorable is his outfit! I can’t even handle it.
After two failed attempts to get to Florida, it was time for my Mother in Law’s birthday! It was a big milestone birthday, so all of our family was getting together to celebrate. We headed down to South Alabama where most of our extended family is and spent the day in the country celebrating, laughing, and eating all the yummy food. It was a nice break to catch up and spend time with everyone.
In between all of our traveling and sickness, you can usually find us with friends at their farm. We’ve been skeet shooting, catfish fishing, and bass fishing anytime we get the chance. And if I’m being honest, it’s so nice to disconnect, unplug, and get lost in the country. I guess that’s why I take so many unintentional hiatuses from this little space. In a tech based world it’s not very often you unplug, and for me, unplugging from social media and my blog is so refreshing sometimes, not to mention, it’s nice MAKING memories instead of watching them happen behind a camera screen.
I have some fun things to share with y’all though, so I’ll be around this little space pretty often. I’ll be sharing all about Mykenzi’s 3rd Birthday which we did finally get to make it to Florida for that, I’ll be sharing an update on how we’re doing since we switched from Honest Diapers to Parasol, we also took family pictures in Florida with our favorite photographer, so of course, I’ll be sharing those, and I’ll be sharing all about how to get your Game Day Style on point since College Football kicks off this weekend!
