As a Mom your wardrobe tends to get stale, at least for me it does. The same mundane outfits, whatever fits the loosest or covers all that Mom flub you keep promising to tone up. Don’t get it twisted, I have a tiny frame, but I promise the mom flub is still there. You don’t birth an 8lb 8oz baby a magically avoid flub. It just doesn’t happen. Anyway, back to my point, so you play it safe with your fashion choices. It’s cool, I do it too. That’s when I decided to hop on one of my favorite shopping sites, Tobi.com, and push my Mom wardrobe boundaries. Tobi is so amazingly on trend, and a lot of their stuff I was scared to put on, while at the same time I wanted to step outside my comfort zone. I wanted to order every fashion trend I so desperately wanted to try, but thought I couldn’t pull off, like crop tops and deep V’s. So, I ordered them anyway, and here’s what happened.
First, let me start by saying that I never expected to love a crop top after having two kids. Showing my mid-drift wasn’t exactly on the top of my priority list, but the flowiness of the Cecelia Flutter Crop Top blinded all my insecurities and some how ended up in my shopping cart and on it’s way to me. I panicked when I first tried it on, I figured I was way in over my head, but I got my Mom gears going and decided since I was hopping on this crop top trend, why not hop on the high waisted short trend too. So, that exactly what I did, and to my surprise it’s one of my favorite outfits. The shorts are actually from Abercombie because literally that is the only denim that fits me in the right places. I know, I don’t get it either, but whatever works, right?! The high waist is the perfect compliment to this flowy crop top, especially for this two time Mom bod. And, y’all! This top is seriously so light and comfortable, it’s perfect for those hot summer days. I finished this look off with some studs, my favorite layering necklaces from Brin and Bell, and some Tory Burch Sandals. It made for the perfect Summer daytime outfit.
Next, a little number called the Liisa Lace Up Bodycon Dress found its way into my cart. Actually, I put this one in my cart, took it out, put it back in my cart, and then pulled the trigger. I was so nervous about the deep V that went down all the way to your mid section. My lady bits are no longer the size nor the perky level they used to be since I started Mommin’ in 2014. It was a sad day to lose those guys, but hey both my kids were fed by them, so that’s kind of cool. I immediately fell in love with this dress, but I was concerned about how I would fill it out or lack there of, and I was pleasantly surprised at how sexy I felt in this dress upon putting it on. I’m a sucker for Lace to begin with, so add the deep V that laces up, a sheer back, and I feel like the sexiest Mom in the world who totally deserves a night on the town. I kept it simple and paired this dress with my favorite black heels from Target, simple gold diamond shaped studs from Rocksbox, and my favorite clutch from Gentry California, because hello, Monogram, duh.
Tobi.com has everything to take you from Day to Play, and if you aren’t wanting to step outside your fashion comfort zone, no worries, they have fashion trends of all kinds. I just decided I needed to step outside that Mom Box I was tired of being stuck in, and I’m so glad I did. It’s not something I will do all the time, but I love that I pushed my self to a limit, and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Now excuse me while I head back to Tobi.com and buy more conscientious Mom-drobe choices.
