http://goodvibeswebsitedesign.co.uk/about/ I have never really found an infant bath that I just absolutely loved. I see most parents post their bath time photos on Facebook or Instagram and they make bath time look so easy, meanwhile I leave bath time battered and bruised from the side of the tub pushing into my ribs while trying to keep from drowning my son and his bath seat from slipping and sliding all over the tub. Either I’m some kind of special or this is a real problem nobody talks about. I choose to believe the latter.
http://greenermobiles.com/2015/05/ I didn’t feel like I really had too many options for bath time, so I chose a traditional mesh bath seat thinking that might be my best bet. I don’t think I’ve ever hated any baby product more in my life. Rowan never sits right in it and as soon as he learned he could move his legs, forget ever sitting up straight. I spent the majority of bath time trying to keep him seated in fear he was going to flip into the water and drown himself. The bottom never sat flush with the tub, and there were no grips, so it slid all over the tub the whole bath. Plus, something I never took into consideration, the mesh. It stinks! No matter how many times I rinse and hang dry it just has a mildewy smell and it’s gross.
When I opened the Shnuggle Bath I was immediately impressed with the quality. The tub is a sturdy plastic and the back rest is a nice soft foam piece that seems very water friendly in terms of ensuring comfort for my baby, as well as, being sanitary and not holding odors. Inside the tub there is also what they call the “bum bump” which holds your baby in the sitting position so you can use both of your hands freely for bath time. Plus, the best part of the tub for me, it has grippers! No more breaking my ribs trying to chase a bath seat all over the tub. Shnuggle had me at grippers, but or the review’s sake I went ahead and bathed Rowan in it to truly test it out.
I think the pictures speak for themselves. Rowan has always loved baths, but he lit up in the Shnuggle Bath. He was able to sit better on his own and actually play in the bath. I didn’t have to have a hand on him the whole time, I could actually play with him and use both hands to bathe him. Before I was so concerned with him toppling over that I held his arm the entire bath. Not with the bum bump! That thing is amazing! Also, the tub never wavered. It didn’t even slide an inch thanks to the grippers. When I was done with the bath, I simply poured out all the water and left it upside down to dry and I came back to a dry, odor free tub. I seriously don’t know how I went so long with such a terrible bathing situation, thank god for Shnuggle!
The tub says from birth to 6 months, but Rowan is 7 months and used it perfectly. He is just now starting to sit on his own and the bum bump actually helps him with that and allows him to have more independence in the tub. I think that was something we both truly enjoyed. Also, you can purchase a stand for the tub separately from Shnuggle. This would’ve definitely been handy in those Newborn days! It would’ve made my life so much easier!
Shnuggle also makes some other pretty awesome baby products you’ll have to go check out. But, if you’re in the market for a tub, I highly recommend the Shnuggle Bath! We love it!
I received the Shnuggle Bath complimentary from Shnuggle in exchange for an honest review. As always here at Jen and Juiceboxes all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
